Thanks for stopping by my website. I take a couple hundred pictures each month and use this space to not only share what's going on in my life, but to share some of my pictures.

Why Did I Do This Website?

I set up this particular website because I spent so much time sitting around, not able to do too much for several
weeks after surgery.  Most of my time was spent just taking my medication and thinking. Some of the thoughts
were good, others not so good. But I had a lot of time to reflect on everything. So in the interest of keeping
myself busy, I decided to write down a bunch of my thoughts and compile a little recent history of me. Feel
free to browse my life, haha.

Surgery
I had surgery on January 29th to replace two disks and fuse a titanium plate to my spine. Because of the location of the damaged disks (between C-5 & C-6 and C-6 & C-7), they had to go in through the front of my throat, it was called an anterior cervical disketomy with fusion. I didn't have any traumatic experience that caused my disk problems, it was just disk degeneration. I personally think it was from fighting so many big fish and too many crashes on my snowmobile, haha!

My Photography
I have really been into photography for about 20-years. I have taken over 85,000 pictures with my last 2 digital cameras in a period of about 6 years. I have a web page with about 11,000 of my pictures on it that I set up in February of 2000. As of  July 13, 2009, I've had 533,346 viewers of my photos. I rank #12 out of 136,090 photographers on that website for image views. Click here to view my online picture storage site.

Hobbies
Recreational fishing has been my favorite past-time for many years. I enjoy both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
I am the Vice President of the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association, the biggest and oldest saltwater fishing club in New England. I am also a Master Instructor for the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife Angler Education Program, we teach kids how to fish and teach conservation ethics.

I have built and maintain websites for a few of the fishing clubs I belong to. I have fun doing them and the people I come in contact with because of them helps me learn more things all the time so it's all good.

For the past several years, I have spent all my winter months snowmobiling with a group of friends. Every year, 10 or 12 of us will get together and rent a house in Maine and take over Rangeley Lake where we have full out drag races all day and all night long. I won a lot of the races last winter topping out at 112mph. We do some open-water crosses in the middle of the lake which is quite scary but a quick adrenaline rush! We hit the mountains and don't stop until we hit the top. Last year we saw a couple of bobcats, some moose and lots of deer. The scenery is always breathtaking and never the same on two rides. There is also a house that we rented in the White Mountains in Stark, NH that has some incredible snowmobiling.

Friends
I have been blessed with some of the best, closest and caring friends that anyone could ever ask for. I have
friends that would give the shirt off their back for me, friends that have been with me through the best and worst parts of my life. Friends that went down that road with me and for me, without criticizing or judging me through any of it.

I am also honored to say that I have 4 God-children, two girls and two boys. I can't think of too many more important things that someone can ask you to do for them than to be a God-parent for their children. I am humbled to be put in that position.

My Life Story
Other than time I spent in San Antonio, Texas and Plattsburgh, NY when I was in the Air Force after high school, I have lived in Massachusetts my whole life. Looking back over my life, I wish that I made some different (and better) decisions growing up. The Air Force wasn't such a great way of life for me because I didn't take full advantage of it the way that I now wish that I could have. I missed the opportunity to see the world and explore different cultures when I had the chance.

I guess if I had made different choices then, my life would not be what it is today. Granted, things could be better for me, but I could not exchange the unconditional love or bond that my daughter and I have for anything in the world.

I got a job working for the town that I grew up in and have been there for 22-years now. I was promoted to my current position of Supervisor in 1991 and have run the department since then, reporting directly to three elected officials. The job has it's good days and bad days, but overall, I love the job.

I have been through some amazing things and some very trying and difficult things in my life, some that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I've lived through the miracle of seeing my daughter born and the devastation of seeing a person die beside me. There can't be any feelings further apart in life than those.

I've seen some incredible, breathtaking and unforgettable sights. I have seen the Space Shuttle Endeavour launch
from Florida on April 19, 2001. If you ever get the chance to witness a shuttle launch, do it. It is incredible
and awe inspiring. When I was in the Air Force, I also saw a space shuttle on top of a military jumbo jet fly over
my base, again, very impressive. I've seen a beautiful full width, double rainbow. I'm not sure how rare that is,
but since at age of 42, I've only see the one, I think it's pretty cool!

Vacations
I've been lucky enough to go to some fun and beautiful places, both local and tropical.

Here are some of my favorite vacations:
Bermuda (St. George twice & Hamilton once)
Jamaica (Negril twice and Montego Bay once)
Grand Cayman Island once (the most beautiful place on Earth)!
Cozumel, Mexico had beautiful beaches and all of the tourist bars
Bahamas (Nassau & Freeport)
Florida (Orlando twice and Coco Beach twice)
Maine (Old Orchard Beach & Bar Harbor mostly, but all over)
New Hampshire (North Conway mostly, but all over)
Farmville, Virginia for a fishing trip with Ted, Murph and Walter. AWESOME trip
